Karen's Botanicals creates exquisite natural body care products using the highest quality organic herbs and the purest natural ingredients available. Like great bread and fine wine, our products are made from simple, ancient materials and are intended to give sustenance and pleasure to daily life. Most of our products begin with fresh, whole, organic plants that, like whole foods, contain a wide spectrum of nourishing compounds. Our natural body care products are inspired and informed by traditional and contemporary herbal wisdom, and formulated with deep appreciation for the healing potential of the natural world. We make natural body and skin care products that are safe and effective. All herbal ingredients and most others are certified organic. We buy from organic farmers and wildcrafters whose work supports the earth's natural vitality. Our suppliers maintain extremely high standards through direct relationships with farmers, properly controlled storage conditions, and laboratory analysis of all products. No commercially prepared cream or oil bases, synthetic fragrances, coloring agents, parabens, petroleum derivatives or harmful chemicals are used. We are PETA certified Cruelty Free and never test on animals; we use only consenting adults who are friends, family, and customers. Many of our products are vegan, made only with herbs and plant oils, extracts, butters, and waxes.

This photograph shows how our natural products begin: Plants, such as the organic Balm of Gilead buds are infused for four to six weeks in blends of certified organic, cold pressed vegetable oils such as olive and sunflower. Plant compounds are extracted through gentle heat and light from the sun and moon to make infusions of unusual purity and power. These infusions, once strained, become ingredients in our natural facial creams, body lotions, therapeutic body oils, and balms and salves. Cleansers and Toners and other products are made by extracting plant compounds in Witch Hazel or Organic Apple Cider Vinegar instead of oils. We never use commercial cream or oil bases. We make everything from pure plant materials and extracts.
